MAINLY CLOUDY & MILD SUNDAY

Clouds have settled over the region, and they are here to stay for the rest of the weekend. Expect mostly cloudy skies to remain through the night, but it is not nearly as cold. Overnight low temperatures fall into the upper 20s to lower 30s. Temperatures are quite mild Sunday despite plentiful clouds. Highs reach the lower to middle 40s! Showers arrive during the evening hours along with an area of low pressure that continues to cross through our area into Monday.

SHOWERS & ICY SPOTS

On and off showers continue through Monday morning. An area of high pressure to the north tries to push back some colder air into the region through the morning and into the early afternoon. In some spots, it could be enough to lower temperatures at or slightly below freezing along the north central and northeastern parts of the area. This means some pockets of freezing rain are possible, so watch for icy or slippery spots. Some snow showers mix in later in day, but little to no accumulation is expected by the time the system exits.

MORE COLD AIR

Temperatures remain below seasonal averages through the middle of the week. Tuesday brings breezy conditions and clouds with highs near the freezing mark. Clouds thicken up Wednesday ahead of a very weak system. Highs are in the lower to middle 30s. Some snow showers are possible overnight Wednesday through Thursday as the weak system pushes through. Expect breezy conditions too Thursday with even colder air slipping in. Highs fall into the 20s. An arctic blast settles in for the end of the week, with high temperatures in the teens and lows in the single digits Friday and Saturday.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
