SHOWERS TO WINTRY MIX

Clouds remain in place this evening as a weak area of low pressure arrives from the west. A few showers are possible through the evening, but most remain dry. Light showers are still possible through Monday morning. An area of high pressure to the north tries to push back some colder air into the region near daybreak and through the morning, into the early afternoon. In some spots, it will be enough to lower temperatures at or slightly below freezing along the north central and eastern parts of the area. This means some pockets of freezing rain are possible, so watch for icy or slippery spots. Some snow showers and sleet mix in later during day, but little to no accumulation is expected by the time the system exits. Expect foggy areas too, especially along the higher elevations through the day.

QUIET BUT STILL COLD

Temperatures remain below seasonal averages through the middle of the week. Tuesday brings breezy conditions and clouds with highs near the freezing mark. Clouds thicken up Wednesday ahead of a weak clipper. Highs are in the lower to middle 30s. Some snow showers are possible overnight Wednesday through Thursday as the weak system pushes through. Expect breezy conditions too Thursday with even colder air slipping in. Highs fall into the 20s.

ANOTHER ARCTIC BLAST

An arctic blast settles in for the end of the week, with high temperatures in the teens and lows in the single digits Friday and Saturday. Another weak clipper system brings the chance for some snow showers again, and also reinforces the arctic air for Sunday. Highs are still near 20 degrees as the weekend closes.

Have a great week!
