PennDOT crew are already out in Franklin and Adams counties, where the snow started first. All of the trucks will be out at midnight.

Crews say the roads were already treated from the snow over the weekend. They’re using an anti-skid mix now, because when it’s this cold (under 20 degrees), salt brine will freeze up.

“Morning commute is probably going to be a little bit messy,” David Rock, assistant district executive for maintenance at PennDOT. “You’re dealing with low temperatures, forecast 3 to 6 inches depending on where you are, we’ll get you where you need to go, but you’ve got to be patient.”

The farther south you go, the snowier it will be.

“I commute to Baltimore so hopefully, I-83 is clear but we’ll deal with it as it comes,” says Eric McWilliams of Jacobus.
