Police are releasing new details about the death investigation of two men in Lancaster Township, Lancaster County. Manheim Township Police say the home where the two were found didn’t have any running water and the heating system was off.

South West End Avenue is a very busy street. But, neighbors tell FOX43 that the people who lived in this home kept to themselves. Some say they hadn’t seen them for months.

“That is shocking that nobody who lived around here didn’t notice that they didn’t come out or anything. That’s terrifying,” said Ella Betz, who lives nearby.

Police came to the home after a family member tried to check up on the two men, only to find, they were dead. The family member told police they hadn’t heard from them in at least two weeks. When police got to the home they discovered there was no running water, and the heating system was off. A gas oven was on, but only heating part of the home.

“It’s just sad that they died like that,” said Betz.

People who live nearby are upset those closer to the two men didn’t try to check on them more often.

“Sometimes you get so busy that you don’t think to check on your parents or you know, your elderly neighbors but you know just stop by and just see how they’re doing especially if you haven’t seen them for a day or so,” said Betz.

Investigators spent most of Thursday night going through the home and looking for evidence. But, they don’t suspect foul play. The Lancaster County Coroner will conduct an autopsy on Monday.
