Giant Foods has removed Talenti Sea Salt Caramel gelato from its shelves after the manufacturer recalled the product, citing the product may inadvertently contain peanuts (as peanut butter), which are not listed as an ingredient on the label.

Giant said Monday the recall includes all sell-by dates of 05/19/2016 for the gelato, UPC18685200024, one pint.

So far, the company has received no reports of illnesses associated with the product. Customers who bought  the gelato should throw it away and bring a receipt to Giant for a refund.

The gelato was distributed nationwide in retail stores. Talenti® Gelato & Sorbetto, a Unilever company, initiated the recall as a result of a consumer complaint.
