Due to deteriorating road conditions in Lancaster, the city is under a snow emergency. All vehicles must be off designated snow emergency routes by 5:00 pm. The snow-covered roads caused quite a problem for people in the city. Under the snow emergency, your car must be removed from designated routes, otherwise be subject to towing or ticketing. Free parking is available in the North Prince Street Garage, only. Vehicles will have on hour to move off of routes when the emergency is lifted.

Conditions also made for a messy commute at Amtrak. Morning trains from Lancaster into Philadelphia or New York were cancelled. Passengers had to wait until after 1:00 to travel.

Also, Penn Waste routes have been cancelled. If your trash wasn't collected, they will accept double the regular volume on your next scheduled collection day.
