A male nurse accused of touching himself in front of two disabled two year olds in York County was in court on Tuesday. Steve Patterson listened as the prosecutor read the charges against him, including indecent assault and open lewdness. The alleged assault happened on February 9. One of the victim's parents said he heard moaning and came downstairs to find Patterson touching himself in front of the girls who are both on breathing and feeding machines.

Patterson told police he was actually doing push ups and sit ups because he is currently in the National Guard and was getting ready for a physical. Another nurse who Patterson worked with also told police she had seen him kissing the girls on the mouth.

Deputy Prosecutor Diana Spurlin talked about how Patterson allegedly created the situation he's currently in. "I would say that he made his bed," said Spurlin implying that now he has to lie in it. Patterson's attorney, Bernard Ilkhanoff, said, "This case has turned my clients life upside down. He is eager to vindicate his name. He has many people that are going to support him through this case."

Patterson has been released on a $5,000 bond. He's also been ordered by the judge to have no contact with the victims and their family. Patterson will have another hearing on April 17 were he's expected to plead not guilty.
