Flames engulf home in York County

YORK COUNTY, PA (WPMT) Two people are homeless in the aftermath of a fire that engulfed their York County home.  The fire broke out at about 3:18 pm at the home is along the 2400 block of Sky Top Trail in Dover Township.

The first firefighters on the scene reported heavy smoke and flames.  Because of its remote location tankers were summoned to the scene to supply water. The flames eventually destroyed the home.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.


Police closed Route 74 between old Carlisle Road, for hours forcing a backup of rush hour traffic.
