A 9-year-old boy from Lancaster is in critical is in critical condition this morning after a relative accidentally shot him outside of his home.
It happened on East Madison Street around 4:30pm on Sunday.
According to police, the family had a get together at the home.
The relative had a handgun and test fired it in the basement.
The bullet went through a door and hit the child in the back.
The boy underwent surgery and is now recovering.
