WASHINGTON, DC.(WPMT) Congressman Scott Perry is skeptical of the proposed nuclear deal that the Obama Administration is seeking with Iran.  He aired his concerns in a recent Op-Ed in U.S. News & World Report.

Rep. Perry:

A nuclear-armed Iran is one of the gravest security threats facing both the United States and our greatest ally in the region, Israel. As a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, I’m intensely focused on this threat, including the implications of the fact that this agreement still potentially leaves Iran on the threshold of possessing a nuclear weapon.

The committee has heard from countless experts, administration officials and regional partners. Based upon the testimony I’ve heard and research I’ve done, this tentative agreement with Iran must meet certain criteria for it to be described as a good deal. Unfortunately, some other foreign policy actions that have been described as good deals by the president include the “red line” in Syria, the success in Yemen and supporting a failed Islamic dictatorship in Egypt. It is reasonable to be skeptical.
