2 arrests made in Harrisburg robbery, police continue to search for additional suspects

Police have two suspects in custody and are still searching for several others after an early morning robbery/shooting in uptown Harrisburg.

Officials say police responded to the robbery around 2:30 a.m. along the 200 block of Verbeke Street. Several suspects fled the scene, leading police on a car chase that ended in a crash along the 3000 block of Second Street police said.

County Control said shots were fired but it is still unclear at this time who exactly fired the shots, how many were fired and if anyone was injured.

Residents in the uptown section of the city within the 3000 block of Green, Penn, and Second streets were ordered to shelter in place throughout the morning.

That lock-down has been lifted and residents are able to come outside at this time.

A nearby Harrisburg School, The Camp Curtain Academy is operating on a 1 hour delay with staff to report at regular time due to this incident.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.
