Multiple shots fired during incident at Adams County Prison; Gunman in custody

STRABAN TOWNSHIP (WPMT)- UPDATE:   Adams county DA held Press conference Thursday evening about the active shooter at Adams County Prison. The shooter was a 31-year old white male dressed in camoflouge who rode a bicycle to the prison and started shooting an AR style rifle. He also had a 9mm Glock handgun. He was shot by a trooper with a rifle and taken to York Hospital. He’s currently in the trauma unit and charges are pending.

Adams County Prison was locked down after an incident involving a shooter in the prison parking lot. It happened around 1:30pm. Officials say multiple shots were fired. The shooter was taken into custody around 2pm. He was then MEDIVACed to a local hospital. All County facilities have reopened.

A press conference is expected within the hour to shed more light on the situation.
