Adams County Prison shooting suspect dies

YORK COUNTY, PA (WPMT) The suspect in Thursday’s shooting incident at the Adams County Correctional Facility has died.  The York County Coroner’s Office said the alleged shooter, 31 year old Jess Leipold, died at 2:40 pm this afternoon. Leipold was being treated at York Hospital after he was felled by a single shot from a State Trooper.

Leipold had no fixed address but family members in Adams County were notified of his death. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow at Lehigh Valley Hospital to help determine his exact cause of death.
