3 people homeless in two alarm fire in Mechanicsburg

MECHANICSBURG, PA (WPMT) Three people are homeless in the aftermath of a two alarm fire in Mechanicsburg Borough. The fire broke out in the roof of a two story attachment to the rear of the three story home along the 200 block of West Main Street at about 4:16 pm.

A passerby reported seeing smoke from the back of the duplex. The first firefighters to arrive on the scene reported heavy smoke and flames. All the occupants escaped safely.

It took about an hour to bring the fire under control.  There were no reported injuries. A State Police Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
