Woman arrested in Lancaster City stabbing

LANCASTER (WPMT) — Investigators have made an arrest after a  20-year-old woman was stabbed in Lancaster  Monday night.

Jahtonnia “Jahti” Amani Pledger, 19, of Lancaster is charged with aggravated assault. She was taken to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $250,000 bail.

Officers were notified by staff at Lancaster General Hospital that an unidentified woman had arrived at the hospital with stab wounds around 8:52 p.m. The victim underwent emergency surgery for multiple stab wounds to her arm, abdomen and chest, police said. She is listed in critical, but stable condition.

Authorities learned that the incident happened along the 500 block of Green Street. According to a news release,  officers were able to identify Pledger as a suspect after speaking with witnesses at the scene.

Police arrested Pledger after finding her hiding in an apartment in the area of North Duke and East Chestnut Street.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 28.
