Because they have given so much for the country, a community came together in York County to give back to active and retired military members.

Hosted by "B Magazine" and 50Plus Senior News, it's part of the "Veterans' Expo and Job Fair" at the York Expo Center. The event connected service members and their families with health as well as educational resources and benefits from more than 100 businesses and organizations. The job fair portion allowed veterans to meet with employers from different fields ranging from management to construction. It's all an effort to make a difference in their day-to-day lives.

"They're not looking for handouts,"  York County Department of Veteran Affairs Director Philip Palandro said, "they're not looking for automatic things, they're just looking for purpose, direction, and motivation... resources where they can go, and then we'll take it from there. "

Organizations were also on hand to help veterans find financial support.
