Hundreds of people took advantage of the beautiful weather Saturday and made their way to downtown York for the 7th annual ‘Go Green in the City’ festival.
"It celebrates living locally; living an eco-conscious healthy life,” said Meagan Freeser, with Downtown INC.
From food trucks and fresh produce, to live music and games for the kids; there was a little something for everyone.
The festival featured more than 60 vendors, including York City’s artisans, green-conscious businesses, non-profits, and locally-sourced food vendors.
Organizers say the event was not only fun and educational, but it also offered a boost to the entire downtown area.
"All of our shops were busy. All of our restaurants were busy today. Central Market was booming,” Feeser said. “So when we have more people coming downtown, everybody succeeds. We like to say a rising tide lifts all boats, so if one person is doing well, we're all doing well."
