HARRISBURG (WPMT)-Police are looking for a homeless man accused of breaking into a Harrisburg church and stealing food.

Ronald Spencer, 35, of no fixed address, is charged with burglary and defiant trespass. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Officers responded to Rose of Sharon Church located along the 1900 block of North 4th Street around 11 a.m. Sunday for a reported burglary.

The person who discovered the burglary told police that someone had gotten into the church by breaking out a glass window on a door. Once inside, the suspect went to the kitchen and emptied the refrigerator and pantry of food, police said.

The victim told investigators they believed Spencer may have committed the burglary. He had repeatedly trespassed onto the property, authorities said.

Spencer fled from police after officers spotted him in a vacant warehouse across the street.

Items taken from the church were found where Spencer was seen, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call 717-558-6900 and ask for a city detective.
