EAST LAMPETER TWP., Pa. – A Lancaster County man blames his heroin addiction for carrying out a weekend burglary.  It happened last Friday, May 8 at a home in the 2800 block of Lincoln Highway East.  Jewelry and a video game system were stolen from the residence.

East Lampeter Township Police Detective Sergeant Brian Cloonan developed a neighbor, David R. Humphries, 34, as the prime suspect in the burglary.  Humphries subsequently admitted to entering the home and stealing the property due to his heroin addiction.

All of the stolen property was recovered by Sergeant Cloonan from two buy and sell stores where Humphries pawned the property.

Humphries was charged on Wednesday May 12 with Burglary, Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition and Theft by Deception.  He is being held at  Lancaster Co. Prison in lieu of $20,000.
