AMERICAN PHAROAH

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND (CNN)– The first Triple Crown in 37-years is in sight after American Pharoah’s emphatic win in a rainy Preakness Stakes on Saturday.

American Pharoah trainer Bob Baffert, won his sixth Preakness and gets a fourth crack at the Triple Crown, his first since 2002. Victor Espinoza became the first jockey to be alive to ride three Triple Crown-horses.

Baffert told NBC’s Kenny Rice that “Great horses do great things,” and no more was that true in the Preakness.

Now it’s on to Belmont Park for the Test of a Champion where a herd of horses await the Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner, looking to snap the Triple Crown drought. With a win at Belmont on June 6th, American Pharoah would be the first horse since Affirmed in 1978 to win the Triple Crown.
