YORK, Pa. — The trial is underway for a man accused of trying to orchestrate a series of murder-for-hire plots in York County.
Gregory Hess is accused of trying to have his estranged wife’s boyfriend killed last year. He’s also accused of trying to hire people to kill informants who cooperated with police.
A jury was chosen on Monday; opening statements are expected to happen Tuesday.
Hess' bail was reduced from $20 million to $2 after a judge found his right to a speedy trial was violated.
