YORK, Pa. - The York County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force Auction was held Monday in York. About 50 vehicles were auctioned off and over 150 other items. Most of the pieces were seized during drug investigations. All of the money raised goes toward the Force’s operating costs.

“The drug task force is a county wide group of police officers who do nothing but work to eliminate the influx of drugs into our community “said York County District Attorney Tom Kearney.

“(I) actually won a Subaru legacy today so pretty excited” said Brad Bishop.

Bishop has gone to the auction for the last five years. He says he is able to buy vehicles for about half t he cost. While he hits the road in his new ride, he is helping to keep drugs off of the streets.

“If we didn’t have the task force we’d have a far, far larger group of drug dealers. (They) would have free reign basically and we try to limit it as much as we can “said Kearney.

The spring auction is an annual event.
