NORTH YORK BOROUGH, Pa. – Northern York County Regional Police say an apparent home invasion and shooting over the weekend was not a random act.

At 3:44 am Sunday,  NYCR Police officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 700-800 block of North George Street in North York Borough.

Officers checked the area and found that a rear door was standing open to a home in the 700 block of North George Street. The officers also found that the door had been forced open and that there were shell casings on the rear porch.

Checking further the officers discovered a wounded victim on the second floor of the home. The 43 year old male was transported to York Hospital by EMS for treatment of at least one gunshot wound. His identity or condition has not been released.

Investigators say the shooting was not a random crime. It appears as though the home involved was targeted.

Anyone with information related to the case should call the Northern York County Regional Police Department at (717) 292-647, through 911, or use the crime tip reporting portion of the department’s website.
