Amateur painters are spending the weekend capturing the heart of Central Pennsylvania on canvas.

62 artists and 33 painters from 8 states and the Dominican Republic juried into the 5th Annual Plein Air Camp hill Arts Festival on Market Street, Saturday.
The event gives artists and photographers a chance to meet each other as well as festival organizers.
Those involved say this festival is unique because it pumps both cash and culture into the community.

Craig Bachik, Executive Director of Plein Air Arts Festival says, “This is the 5th event, it started with a economic development group in Camp Hill trying to get arts and culture into the downtown business district to give businesses an opportunity to showcase what they have to offer and get the public out here to see what camp hill has to offer.”

Today’s event also included glass blowing demonstrations, live music, and a pig roast.
The festival has raised more than $500,000 dollars in donations to support it’s scholarship fund.
