Allegheny County, Pa — A waiter loses his job just weeks before his wedding, but it wasn’t for bad service. He lost his job over bad language, and it wasn’t even the waiter who said the derogatory term.

Bruce Casper’s girlfriend took to social media after she says he was fired from his job at a Chili’s.   Crista Miller wrote that Bruce has had an ongoing problem at work with people using the word ‘retard.’

Bruce and Crista have three children together. Their youngest, a 16-month-old toddler named Kyron, has Down syndrome.

She wrote, “he made it clear to everyone near that our son has Down Syndrome and he will not tolerate that word management said, ‘ you can leave then’ so he did.”

A spokeswoman for Chili’s Restaurants told KDKA, in part, in a prepared statement:

“This is certainly not the behavior we condone in our restaurants, and we take allegations like this very seriously and we are investigating.”

Bruce was offered another job at a different Chili’s but says he doesn’t feel comfortable working for the company.
