According to the complaint, on April 15 at about 6:24 pm, Binder was the driver of the vehicle that struck two another vehicles, one attended in the parking lot along the 1900 block of North Cameron Street. . Officers were able to determine that the striking vehicle belonged to Binder and located the vehicle at his Steelton home. Binder was in his residence and was intoxicated. He was taken into custody without incident and blood was drawn for testing.
The complaint charges that Binder failed to stop and render aid and/or provide information at the scene of the accident. The complaint also said that Binder was found to have had a blood alcohol concentration of .193% You are considered legally drunk in Pennsylvania with a BAC of .08% with .16% and above considered to be the highest level of DUI.
Charges against Binder include two counts of DUI, Reckless Driving, and Accidents involving Damage to Attended Vehicle. A preliminary on the charges is scheduled for July with Judge Jennings.
Court records show that Binder plead guilty to Public Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct in Dauphin County in 2010. He was also charged with DUI in December 2001 in Lancaster County.
This year Binder lead the Steel-High Rollers basketball team to its seven District 3, AAA title.
