LOWER PAXTON TWP., Pa. – A 33 year old Harrisburg woman says she was the victim of an attempted rape over the weekend.  The woman told police that she had accepted a ride to her home from a man at Ceoltas Pub downtown on North 2nd Street early Sunday morning.

Instead of taking her home, the man drove her to an apartment complex parking lot on Union Deposit Rd.  After the man began making sexual advances toward her, she jumped out of the vehicle.  She ran through a wooded area until she was stopped by a chain link fence that had a baseball field on the other side, believed to be in Kohl Park.

The man chased her to that spot where he had her trapped.  He then exposed himself and told her what he was going to do.  The victim reached into her purse and pulled out a can of pepper spray and threatened to spray the man in the face.  The threat was apparently enough to dissuaded him from his apparent intentions and he turned and walked away. The victim walked to the Hampton Inn on Union Deposit Road and called police.

The suspect is described as being a black male with dark skin, medium height with a muscular build, a thin mustache, short hair and an “African” accent. His vehicle was a late model Hyundai Elantra.  Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Lower Paxton Township Police at (717) 657-5656.
