HARRISBURG, Pa. – Governor Tom Wolf continues the legal battle over his firing of Pennsylvania’s Office of Open Records executive director Erik Arneson. This morning Pa Commonwealth Court in a 4 – 3 decision ruled that Governor Wolf did not have the power to remove Arneson from office.
Lawyers with the state attorney general’s office filed a formal appeal of that decision late Wednesday afternoon to the Pa. Supreme Court on behalf of the governor. The appeal forestalls Arneson’s return to the Office of Open Records until the Pa. Supreme Court rules on the governor’s appeal.
