YORK, Pa. –  The owner of a York City store is under arrest for selling synthetic marijuana. York County Drug Task Force investigators served two search warrants in York City, one at Gloria’s Grocery and Lottery, located at 252 N. George St. and another at owner Wei Wang’s apartment on East King St.

S.Wang

Investigators say Wang, 35, sold synthetic marijuana, branded as “Diablo”, only to trusted customers, and only when the business was empty except for Wang and the trusted purchaser. If other customers were in the business Wang would not sell synthetic marijuana. Wang was selling five and ten gram bags for $30 and $50 respectively.

Officers seized 31 packets of Diablo synthetic marijuana, along with $6,201cash and business records. The packets of synthetic marijuana were hidden in several places in the storage room of the business.

At Wang’s apartment, investigators found 102 bags of synthetic marijuana packaged and branded as “Diablo”, along with $4,169 cash. As investigators were leaving the residence, Wang’s wife, Sheng Wang, became disruptive and attempted to grab evidence officers had seized from her home.

Information developed during the course of this investigation suggests that the couple has been selling synthetic marijuana for approximately one year.

Wei Wang was charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, and Criminal Conspiracy. Sheng Wang was charged with Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Criminal Conspiracy and Obstructing Administration of Law or Governmental Function. Both were taken to the York County Booking Center for preliminary arraignment.
