HARRISBURG, Pa. – Harrisburg City Police formally filed aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children charges today against Kimberly Tutko and her husband Jarrod Tutko, Sr.
Last week, District Attorney Edward Marsico announced that the Dauphin County Eighth Investigating Grand Jury recommended the filing of additional criminal charges related to the Tutko’s then 10-year-old daughter Arianna.
When police responded to the death of Jarrod Tutko, Jr., on August 1, last year, they discovered Arianna Tutko in a second floor bedroom confined to a hospital bed due to being in a ‘vegetative state’.
Her condition at the time was critical. Her heart rate was extremely low, as was her blood pressure and temperature. Hygienically, she was also found to be in a very dirty state. She was taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center for treatment.
The pediatrician who treated her testified that in 30 years of practice he had never seen anything quite like the child’s condition. He said the child was very close to death and was extremely poorly cared for.
