Warm, humid, and stormy for Sunday

STORMY SUNDAY: The summery pattern remains in place after a fairly quiet Saturday. We are on the edge of a strong ridge of high pressure, keeping us on the warmer side. An associated front slowly lifts north as a warm front through Sunday, and this renews shower and thunderstorm chances. In the meantime, it’s a quiet Saturday night. It’s muggy, hazy, and foggy, with lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Sunday with the exception of an isolated shower or two, the morning is mainly dry. During the afternoon, showers and thunderstorms fire up along the front. Some of the storms could be severe, with damaging winds and large hail the primary threats. Highs are very warm and steamy, in the middle to upper 80s. Shower and thunderstorm chances continue Sunday night.

HEAT AND HUMIDITY CONTINUES: Monday and Tuesday both bring shower and thunderstorm chances to our region as we begin the new work week. Some stronger to severe storms are still possible out of the mix. Highs are in the middle to upper 80s Monday, and in the middle 80s for Tuesday. Wednesday brings a bit of a smaller chance for showers and storms. Highs are in the lower to middle 80s.

MORE OF THE SAME: The pattern remains fairly unchanged through the weekend, though there are some hints at relief that we’ll be monitoring closely. In the meantime, expect the chance for more showers and thunderstorms on Thursday. Highs are back up into the middle to upper 80s. As for Friday and Saturday, thunderstorm chances should become more isolated in nature, if not clearing out completely. Highs remain in the 80s.
