YORK, Pa. – Two York City brothers are dead following a shooting late Friday night. City Police responded to a motor vehicle accident with entrapment at about 10:15 p.m. in the 500 block of North Newberry Street.

When police and emergency responders arrived on the scene they discovered the driver, 21-year old Angel Luis Berrios, IV and front seat passenger, 19-year old Abdiel Vasquez-Soto, both of York, with gunshot wounds to the torsos.  Berrios was pronounced dead at the scene. Vasquez-Soto was rushed to York hospital. He died at about 2 am Saturday.   A second passenger Francisco Rivera, 20, was also taken to York Hospital with less serious injuries.  Autopsies on Berrios and Vasquez-Soto are scheduled for Monday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital to determine the exact of death of both men.

According the York County Coroner’s Office, Berrios and Vasquez-Soto were brothers. The two men were apparently shot several blocks away at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Juniper street.  Afterwards, Berrios drove the vehicle, an SUV,  approximately two blocks away to N. Newberry Street, where he crashed into a telephone pole.
