United Way Day of Action

LANCASTER, Pa. — To prepare for summer, volunteers participated in several events across Lancaster as part of the United Way’s “Day of Action” campaign Wednesday.

Several people volunteered at COBY’s Family Services in Lancaster. The organization helps families find housing and provides foster and adoption services. It’s expanding from eight to 16 employees.

“It’s always great to have volunteers, as a non-profit is dependent on support from donors and volunteers,” Don Fitzkee, COBY’s Family services director of development said. “We’ll be looking for volunteers in coming months as we move this project along.”

Volunteers with the United Way of Lancaster County also helped out at the Boys and Girls Club of Lancaster, Solanco Community Garden, and The Factory Ministries on Wednesday.
