SWATARA TWP., Pa. – The drowning death of a 14 year old boy at a Dauphin County apartment complex swimming pool is ruled accidental.
It happened Wednesday afternoon at the Aspen Hills Apartment complex in the 5000 block of Stacey Drive East in Swatara Township. Police and emergency responders arrived to find civilian rescuers, including two lifeguards, performing CPR on the victim who was found unconscious in the pool. He was removed from the pool by other swimmers.
The fourteen year old has been identified as Benjamin Dodoo who lived with family within the apartment complex.
An autopsy performed Thursday morning by the Dauphin County Coroner’s office determined the child’s cause of death was due to fresh water drowning.
Swatara Township Police say their investigation into the case is closed.
