Staying showery and stormy through Thursday

STORMY THURSDAY: Thursday morning is getting a wet and foggy start, and a warm front dangling across our region keeps these chances alive through the day. The first round of showers slowly tapers through the morning hours, with foggy areas too. Some sunshine should peek out around midday, and this should fuel more shower and thunderstorm development during the afternoon hours. A few storms could turn strong to severe, with damaging winds and hail the main threats. The tornado threat is low, but not zero. Highs are in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Rain showers continue overnight as a cold front crosses through. Lows fall into the 60s once more.

WEEKEND DRY TIME: The front clears out through Friday morning, so skies slowly dry and clear out. Sunshine returns by the afternoon hours, and the humidity begins to fall as well. Highs are in the lower to middle 80s. Saturday is dry for most of the day, but the remnants of Tropical Storm Bill drift this way and bring late day thunderstorm chances. The chances increase through the night and into Sunday. Since this is tropical moisture, some locally heavy downpours are possible. Highs are in the lower to middle 80s both days.

UNSETTLED AGAIN: The pattern remains unsettled through early next week, though there will be dry time. Expect a daily chance for showers and thunderstorms Monday through Wednesday. Highs are a bit above seasonable averages. Readings are in the lower to middle 80s through this time frame.

Have a great Thursday!
