Police find body while performing welfare check in New Cumberland

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa.–The Cumberland County coroner’s office was called to a home in New Cumberland after a deceased person was found inside on Saturday morning.

The home is located along the 800 block of Bridge Street, near 9th Street. Officers found the body when they went to the house to perform a welfare check after getting a 911 call around 7:30 a.m., according to John Bruetsch, Cumberland County public information officer.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of the person’s death.
