Severe storms that produced gusty winds, hail and lightning caused damage and power outages across Central Pennsylvania Tuesday.
Trees came down in West York along the 1600 block of Orange Street. Meanwhile, another fallen tree created traffic problems in York City along Pennsylvania Avenue near Elm Terrace.
In Cumberland County, flooded roads created headaches for drivers who became stranded in the rising water along Route 11 and Clay Street in Carlisle .
A fallen tree in Lancaster City fell onto a nearby home and knocked down power lines along the 800 block of 6th Street.
As of 7 p.m., PPL Electric reported 8,400 customers were without power in Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry and York counties.
MetEd/FirstEnergy reported over 3,800 customers were without power in Adams, Cumberland, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon and York counties.
Adams Electric Cooperative reported 379 customers were without power in Adams, Cumberland and York counties.
PECO reported 2,707 customers were without power in York County.
