SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH in effect until 7pm

Tuesday storms leads to a less humid and sunny day Wednesday

STORMY AFTERNOON
A cold front arriving into a very warm and humid air mass will trigger scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms may be strong to severe. The Storm Prediction Center upgraded us to an ENHANCED RISK for severe storms.

This means, damaging winds are likely. Large hail is also a concern. Areas that have received heavy rainfall from the weekend will be susceptible to flooding if a thunderstorm develops and hovers overhead. A tornado or two can’t be ruled out.
Highs today will warm to the upper 80s to low 90s. Dew points have soared to the upper 60s and low 70s. With the front adding good lift, storms will develop anytime from now until 6pm.

Once beyond 6pm, things will quickly quiet down. In fact drier air will spill in and dew points will fall.
AHHHH A BREAK FROM THE HEAT AND HUMIDITY
High pressure builds in to bring the nicest day of the week Wednesday. Lower humidity and temperatures more seasonal in the low 80s is expected. Plenty of sunshine will make for a beautiful and comfortable summer day. Most of Thursday looks to remain dry however, the next system slides in late towards evening bringing the threat for showers and perhaps thunderstorms to the area. There is a better chance overnight into Friday. Highs will warm to the low 80s Thursday and this will start a trend of cooler than average days.
