GETTYSBURG, Pa.–The annual Gettysburg Civil War reenactment held in Adams County has been postponed until August because of rain and flooding, according to a statement posted on the Gettysburg Anniversary Committee (GAC) website.
Thousands of visitors and reenactors gather in Gettysburg each year between July 3 and July 5 to witness and recreate the historic battle.
Recent rainfall on Thursday and Saturday saturated fields and created unsafe conditions for visitors and reenactors, GAC said.
A new date has been set for the battle reenactment. It will take place between Aug. 7 and Aug. 9. Any advance tickets will be honored on those dates.
