Man arrested for firing shot into air in Steelton

STEELTON, Pa. –A man is arrested by Steelton Police after he ordered his underage sister into a car he was driving and fired a shot into the air. It happened Thursday, June 25th, at South 2nd and Swatara Streets. Police say Ti Vazquez pulled up in a Ford Focus with another female. After firing the shot in the air, he drove south on Front Street. Police soon located the suspect’s vehicle in Highspire. One female got out and fled on foot at the sight of police. The juvenile female told police that the driver was her brother and that he had fired the shot into the air. The other female, Corissa Lauer, returned to the scene. After she was read her Miranda Rights, Lauer led police to the spot where she abandoned her purse, which contained a loaded 9mm Smith and Wesson handgun. An empty shell casing was recovered at 2nd and Swatara Streets.


Vasquez was charged with Carrying a Firearm w/o a License, Reckless Endangering, Flight to Avoid Apprehension and Traffic offenses. Lauer is charged with Carrying a Firearm w/o a License and tampering with physical evidence.
