MARICOPA COUNTY, Az. — A police sting ends with a Pennsylvania man arrested -accused of flying to Arizona to engage in sexual acts with a horse.

Investigators say 68-year-old Michael Crawford told undercover deputies he’s been traveling the country with the intent of having sex with horses for 35 years.

Police say they were first tipped off to Crawford after he posted an ad online which described in detail what he was interested in. After nine months of calls and e-mails Animal Crimes Detectives were able to get Crawford to Phoenix.

Undercover detectives met Crawford at the airport with a horse trailer with two miniature horses and filmed his reaction. After choosing one of the animals, he was arrested.

“When he was arrested he was shocked. He said I didn’t do anything. Well he did.” Sheriff Joe Arpaio told KNXV, “And he got away with it. He would have gotten away with this one too….but he happened to pick the wrong county.”

Crawford was arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit bestiality; he had no prior criminal record.

If convicted he could face one to four years in jail.
