HARRISBURG, Pa – A federal grand jury in Harrisburg on Wednesday indicted four aliens, Carlos Hernandez-Mejia, 29, a citizen of El Salvador, Eduardo Hernandez-Lara, 32, Anabel Maganda-Marcial 37, and Miguel Salazar-Gomez,  33, citizens of Mexico, on illegal re-entry charges.

 
According to the federal attorney, Hernandez-Mejia was previously convicted of an aggravated felony and removed from the United States in 2008. He was in Lebanon County, at the time he was taken into custody. If convicted Hernandez-Mejia faces a maximum penalty of 20 years of imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine.

 
Hernandez-Lara was taken into custody in Shenandoah, Schuylkill County and was allegedly previously deported from the United States in 2007.  He faces a maximum penalty of 2 years of imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine.

 
Maganda-Marcial was taken into custody in York, and was allegedly previously removed from the United States in 2006.  If convicted Maganda-Marcial could be sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine.

 
Both matters were investigated by the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and prosecution has been assigned to Assistant U.S. Attorney James T. Clancy.

 
Salazar-Gomez illegally re-entered the United States allegedly after having previously been deported in 2004, 2005 and 2014. Salazar was arrested in March in Adams County and taken into the custody agents with the Department of Homeland Security. Salazar-Gomez, if convicted, faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine.

 
All four cases were investigated by the Department of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
