DERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Hundreds of people in Dauphin County are doing their part to help put an end to global hunger. More than 700 Hershey Company and Stop Hunger Now workers filled up the Giant Center to package meals, weigh bags, and box them.

Their goal is to get 200,000 meals to children in need. It's part of a partnership  between the organizations to give nutrition for children worldwide.

"As our corporate mission, we have a need to help children in need, to nourish both their minds and bodies, " Human Resource Officer Kevin Walling said. "So, this event here at the Giant Center  is just a compilation of a week of giving where throughout the country thousands of Hershey employees have been giving back to their community."

Last year, the meals Hershey packed made it to kids and families in ebola-stricken parts of Africa.

"It's okay to give food to a child one time, " Walling said, "but this is about sustaining children through an educational process of giving enough food to kids to get them to school in the first place, and keep them in school to matriculate them year after year."
