MECHANICSBURG, Pa. - Men and women of various ages lined up with their bow and arrows while taking part in the 70th Annual Outdoor Nationals in Mechanicsburg this week. Professional archers from across the country will be competing for cash prizes, while amateur shooters will compete for metals and trophies.

The nationals are being held at the Mechanicsburg Sportsmen's Association located along Sample Bridge Road. It's not the first time the venue has hosted the event.

"It's a huge honor," tournament Assistant Director Julia Yarlett said, "this is actually our third time.  We're in a rotation with three other locations throughout the United States.  So, we hosted originally in 2009.  We were asked to host it again in 2012, and they're back again in 2015.  So, obviously we're doing something right if they keep having us hold an event to this nature."

The five-day competition will continue through Sunday. Archers have the option to shoot during three or all five days of the tournament.
