LANCASTER, Pa. –An armed homeless man was arrested last night after he was reported to be acting erratically on the porch of a home in Lancaster. Police were called to the 400 block of New Holland Avenue around 10:24pm and found the man. The caller noted that the man was not the person who lived at the home and that he had a handgun tucked into the waistband of his pants.
Officers arrived and saw Arnold Martinez, 36, was still in possession of the handgun. As a result of this incident, Martinez was arrested for Loitering and Prowling at night. Police say the serial number had been obliterated on the gun, a .22 caliber revolver. Martinez was also found to be in possession of Heroin.
Martinez was charged with Loitering and Prowling at Night, Possession of a Firearm with Altered Manufacturers Number and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was arraigned on the charges and committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $150,000 bail.
