TUSCARORA TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- The land outside Perry County Animal Rescue is clear, after employees from a Cumberland County business stepped in to remove tires.

Last weekend, someone illegally dumped 225 tires at the animal shelter, leaving the owners with the costly task of having to get rid of them.

12 men from Dice's Tire Service in Carlisle spent 30 minutes removing the tires from the property.

Company president Keith Fisher says he and his co-workers are dog lovers. When they heard about what happened, they wanted to help out.

"One of my employees saw it on the news and we all talked about it and  agreed it was something we should do," said Fisher. "The key thing I think was the animal shelter works on donations, and I'm sure they operate on a really tight budget. We just thought it would be nice to help the shelter."

Once the tires were packed up in a truck, they were taken to a recycling plant.
