Naked man upsets cafe customers after promotion goes horribly wrong

PHILADELPHIA-  A man showed up completely naked to a coffee shop Friday after a misunderstanding about a promotion.

Tom Dimitriou is the co-organizer of  Philly Naked Bike Ride, and when he showed up to Rocket Cat Cafe he thought people were expecting him.

Dimitriou had spoken to the cafe’s owner Karen Breese about coming in naked to pass out fliers to promote the bike ride.  Breese told PhillyMag that there was a major miscommunication, and that she believed he’d be respectfully covered in body paint.  Dimitriou was apparently only covered with a few paint splashes on his torso.

He also arrived at the shop earlier than expected, and Breese was not there to handle the situation. Unfortunately the e-mail that Breese sent to her employees also went unrecieved.

“There was no warning, so everybody was shocked, even the employees,” barista Dubraska Soso told PhillyMag.

Customers were not happy with the surprise visit by the naked Dimitriou, and made their displeasure known on Yelp. One reviwer, Sarah Gray said, “If you like coffee shops that inflict naked creepers on you and your children without warning or consent, you’ll love the Rocket Cat!”

Breese posted this apology to Facebook:

As for Philly Naked Bike Ride, it will be going on as scheduled Saturday August 29th.
