DOVER, YORK COUNTY – For the second consecutive year, the United States Golf Association is reminding people about the fun of playing a nine-hole round. FOX43 stopped by Grandview Golf Course in Dover for the USGA Play 9 Day.
“Golf is time-consuming. Playing nine holes cuts than in half,” said York golf George Flickinger. “Particularly for people starting out, 18 holes can be frustrating. Nine holes is a good amount of golf to play and it’s not as tiring of course.”
30 percent of golf courses in the country are nine-hole facilities and 90 percent of courses offer a nine-hole rate. The average nine-hole greens fee in the U.S. is only $22.
