Kraft recalls 36,000 cases of singles cheese

The Kraft Heinz Company is recalling certain packages of cheese singles for a potential choking hazard.

The company announced on Friday that it was voluntarily recalling one pound, three pound, and four pound boxes of Kraft Singles American and White American Pasteurized cheese.

The affected products have a ‘best when used by’ date of December 29, 2015 through January 4, 2016 — along with certain manufacturing codes.

Kraft Heinz says a thin strip of the packaging film could remain adhered to the cheese slice even after the wrapper has been removed.

The company has received at least ten complaints about the packaging.

Three people reportedly almost choked.
