WILKES-BARRE, Pa.–A 16-year-old girl who was abducted from her home in Wilkes-Barre on Thursday night has been found safe after an Amber Alert was issued, according to police.

The girl, Jenea Patterson, was believed to have been taken against her will by 21-year-old Walter M. Lewis. Investigators received a tip that Lewis and Patterson were seen in the parking garage of the Wilkes-Barre Hospital on Saturday morning.

Lewis was taken into custody near the hospital after a brief foot pursuit and struggle with police. He is charged with kidnapping, three counts of simple assault, three counts of terroristic threats and three counts of recklessly endangering another person.  Lewis was taken to Luzerne County Prison in lieu of$250,000 bail.

Patterson was found safe and reunited with her family, police said.

A preliminary hearing for Lewis is scheduled for Aug. 13.
